Product & Features

What is WP Sentinel?+
WP Sentinel is a WordPress management platform that lets you monitor, update, and secure multiple WordPress websites from one centralized dashboard. It is built for agencies, developers, and teams who need a professional way to manage WordPress maintenance at scale.
What can I manage with WP Sentinel?+
You can manage WordPress core updates, plugin updates, theme updates, security vulnerability scanning, site health monitoring, and team collaboration — all from a single interface. Every connected WordPress site is visible in one overview so you never have to log into each site individually.
How does WP Sentinel differ from managing sites in wp-admin?+
With wp-admin you manage one site at a time. WP Sentinel gives you a bird's-eye view across all your WordPress websites. You can deploy updates in bulk, scan for vulnerabilities across your entire portfolio, and let team members collaborate — without sharing wp-admin credentials.
Does WP Sentinel work with any WordPress hosting provider?+
Yes. WP Sentinel connects to your WordPress sites through a lightweight agent plugin that works with any hosting provider. It communicates over a secure API regardless of where your sites are hosted.

Getting Started

How do I connect my first WordPress site?+
Create a free account, install the WP Sentinel agent plugin on your WordPress site, and enter the connection details in your dashboard. The plugin authenticates once and then syncs your site data automatically — the whole process takes less than two minutes.
Is there a free plan?+
Yes. WP Sentinel offers a free Starter plan so you can get started without any commitment. No credit card is required. The free plan gives you access to the core features including the multi-site dashboard, updates, and security scanning. Upgrade to a paid plan when you need more sites or team features.
Do I need to install something on each WordPress site?+
Yes. WP Sentinel uses a lightweight WordPress plugin (the agent) that creates a secure connection between your site and your WP Sentinel dashboard. The plugin handles authentication, data syncing, and remote operations like updates.
What are the system requirements?+
Your WordPress sites need to run WordPress 5.0 or higher with PHP 7.4+. The WP Sentinel dashboard itself is a web application — you only need a modern browser. No server-side software is required on your end.

Security & Vulnerability Scanning

How does the Security Center work?+
The Security Center scans all plugins and themes across your connected WordPress sites against a vulnerability database. It checks installed versions against known affected versions and reports any matches with severity ratings (critical, high, medium, low) and patch recommendations.
How often are vulnerability scans run?+
You can trigger a scan manually at any time from the Security Center. Vulnerability data is cached for 6 hours to balance freshness with performance. The database is continuously updated with newly discovered WordPress vulnerabilities.
Is my site data secure?+
Yes. All communication between your WordPress sites and WP Sentinel is authenticated with HMAC-signed requests. Passwords are stored as one-way bcrypt hashes. The platform uses Supabase with row-level security, and all database queries are scoped by organization to enforce strict data isolation.
Does WP Sentinel comply with GDPR?+
Yes. We only collect data necessary for the service to function: site URLs, plugin/theme version information, and account details. We do not track visitors on your WordPress sites. For full details see our Privacy Policy.

Pricing & Billing

Is there a free plan?+
Yes. WP Sentinel offers a free Starter plan that lets you manage a limited number of WordPress sites. It includes the core features like the multi-site dashboard, updates, and security scanning. Upgrade when you need more sites or team features.
How does billing work?+
Paid plans are billed monthly. We process payments through Mollie, a European payment provider. You receive a proper invoice for each payment. VAT is calculated automatically based on your country and business status.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?+
Yes. You can switch plans at any time from your billing settings. When you upgrade, you get immediate access to the higher plan features. When you downgrade, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
Do you offer refunds?+
You can use the free Starter plan indefinitely to evaluate the platform before upgrading. If you have billing issues or questions, contact us and we will work with you to find a fair resolution.

Teams & Organizations

Can I invite team members?+
Yes. You can invite team members to your organization via email. Each member gets their own account and can access the shared dashboard, sites, and features based on their assigned role.
What user roles are available?+
WP Sentinel supports three roles: Admin (full access to all settings, billing, and site management), User (can view and manage sites but cannot change organization settings or billing), and custom access levels set by the admin.
How are organizations structured?+
Each WP Sentinel account belongs to an organization. All sites, team members, and billing are scoped to the organization level. This means your data is fully isolated from other organizations, and team members only see what belongs to their organization.
